Scientists from the Standford university have been examining bird’s flight in a windy tunnel to know how the birds deal with the wind gusts at different speed. The goal of this research is to find a way to build drones which could be controlled safely even in different weather conditions.
The natural bird’s instinct has been inspiring when it comes to building up pilotless devices. The windy tunnel which was partly made by the U.S. Air Force is capable of regulating the wind flow. The wind strength can be set in the range of 0 – 50 meters per second. Scientists then examine the video taken from an inside high-speed camera.
