The Nepal government stated that there have been over 5 000 victims of the Saturday’s earthquake and another 11 000 have been injured.
Considering the completely destroyed infrastructure, many damaged buildings and chaos in the streets, using the drones was unavoidable. They are not only flying above the destroyed places to detect the level of destruction, but mainly looking for the survivors in places the rescuers cannot reach or wouldn’t be able to get to in time. Therefore, inaccessible places can be explored by drones without any further injuries.
